It’s really neat to see a car that started out as, in essence, as a horseless carriage and be able to compare it to where it is now. The 2016 Ford Mustang horsepower is more like a whole herd of race horses, not just a few little ponies! Ford has a long and storied history and, after Ford Appreciation Day, I decided to do some research and see what fun facts I could find about this wonderful ride. Here are my favorite fun facts about Ford vehicles:
Med School Pays Off
The very first Ford was sold to Dr. Pfennig in 1903, for a total of $850. The “Model A” had a two-cylinder engine, and had a maximum speed of 30 MPH. In 1903, $850 was a large sum of money, so this is proof that all those years in medical school certainly must have paid off for Dr. Pfennig!
It’s All In the Family
Ford’s current CEO and Henry Ford’s great-grandson, William Clay Ford, Jr., currently owns that first Ford vehicle ever sold in 1903. This shows brand dedication and a lifelong loyalty that permeates generations!
Kids Like It, Too
“In 1964, after Ford debuted the Mustang, 94,000 pedal-powered toy Mustangs were bought for children the following Christmas season.” If you have kids, you know that they’re extremely discerning consumers; if the 1964 Ford Mustang hadn’t been really cool, no pedal cars would have been sold at all!
It’s a Legendary Car Fit for a Legend
The only car that Jim Morrison, the singer for the Doors, ever owned was a 1967 Shelby GT 500. This means that the Ford had enough pull to be the only car that this legendary singer ever bought!
If you’re in the market for a new or used Ford in Chino Hills, now’s the perfect time to head down to the best Ford Dealership in Los Angeles. With such a long history, it’s clear that there’s been plenty of time to perfect the designs! So whether you’ve been looking at a 2016 Ford Focus, 2016 Ford Fusion, or 2016 Ford Mustang, there’s never been a better time to give these Fords a second look based on their historical significance alone!
